Rich’s FC

My buddy Rich has acquired a pretty cool little FC with a decent list of history, transferred ownership through Ilia and DK. A nice and tidy little car but it needed some work under the hood. I agreed to v-mount the car and redo the entire cooling and chargepipe system for Rich. Sorry if my descriptions are kind of vague, this was all done around July 2015 and my memory isn’t that great haha.

First, what we started with, what a BEAUT! haha

I immediately went into creating a lower crash bar to tie the rails together and support the radiator, then test fitted the intercooler to make sure the angles were happy and everything fit nicely.

Next up was an upper crash bar which would double up as support for dual Setrab oil coolers

Everything housed neatly into the front bumper

Now that everything is in its final resting place its a good time to go ahead and shroud the whole setup best I could. Upon the completion of all shrouding the entire vmount assembly could actually be removed via (10) 6mm and 8mm bolts making any work in the engine bay a breeze.

From this point its pretty much complete, just need to connect the dots. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

And a small coolant bleeder tank finishes off the cooling system nicely

All in all, Rich’s FC turned out to be a very fun project for me. I enjoyed getting that many puzzle pieces to fit together so smoothly.
